I heart Alaminos City!

Not only because of its beautiful rolling hills, or its extraordinarily long straight highways with typical luscious green country scenery, wherein house structures are a combination of the modern, the historical Spanish style and of our very own traditional bahay-kubo. All, having the mountain as their backdrop and as well as the occasional scenery of bridges wherein you can see the waters from the river lovingly unites with the sea water, a unique fusion of the salty and fresh water. Or because of the easy access to the world renowned beauty of Alaminos Beach, the Hundred Islands and as well as to many hidden nature getaways on the nearby towns of Agno, Mabini, Bani, Bolinao and Anda.

And, also not only because of my favorite delectable sea foods, like the yellowfin, prawns, lapu-lapu, malaga, sinungayan, mulmul, talaba, and of course not to forget the sea weed arurusip with kamatis (tomato), bagoong (fish sauce), some slices of onion and itlog maalat (salted egg), yummy! My mouth is already watering, and do you know that the best thing about those fishes is that, since I am not a good cook, I can easily grill them to perfection and voila, instant feast for a hungry stomach.

What else? The friendly people, the lively festivities wherein the talaba and the native longanisa are the star, the sports plaza where you can play badminton-‘til-you-drop, the rustic church where there is an evening mass every October in celebration of the Month of the Rosary, and because it is also the month wherein my heart learned the “poetry of life, adventure and love. And love above all, no… not the artful postures of love, not playful and poetical games of love for the amusement of an evening. But love that … overthrows life… –(I just got that from a friend who loves shakespeare in love :-) )

…. sigh, the list is just endless, but definitely, the best rural place for me is Alaminos City.
