Horoscope and Chinese Zodiac Sign Compatibility

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Are you fond of reading horoscope or chinese zodiac sign compatibility?

Ahmmm, guilty!

Yes, I am. When there is opportunity, I usually check it out. Not that I believe in them wholeheartedly. But the excitement of being in love is still burning inside of me. (lol)

Anyway, I just want to share these two contradicting compatibility prediction base on our astro and chinese zodiac signs.

If you will look at our astrological sign, base on the Western sign compatibility, here is the result:

Virgo with Gemini - Complementary. If Gemini tempers theatrics and Virgo tones down the pickiness, you two can make it for a long time. Aquarius and Libra children keep you smiling.

While, on the Chinese compatibility:

Rooster with Rooster - Nothing to crow about. Neither Rooster gives an inch. Agree on nothing. Sex is tepid to lukewarm. Household topsy turvy. One is neat. The other messy. Short term meetings at airports and railroad stations only. Children? You must be joking.

Either way, I am still proud to say that our relationship is already on its fourth year. And, maybe that makes our relationship a lot exciting and interesting, because of the opposite compatibility result we have.

I even check it on one chinese compatibility table and the result is the lowest rate. (Sigh…) Insisting that both rooster can never have a good long term-relationship. So, I guess I just have to stick with the Western, huh! :-)

10 Commandments of Human Relations

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

A friend of mine shared with me this simple and yet oh so true commandments of Human Relations. So simple and yet at times I honestly forget to do some of the commandments. Especially at times when I am not feeling good with myself and want to be a bit bitchy. :-)

Actually, I am amazed with the different kinds of commandments in life, like commandments for a happy marriage and happy relationship, but I believe they all just speak the same thing. That is “love”, base on the true commandments of the bible. :-)

1. Speak to people.
There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

2. Smile at people.
It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

3. Call people by name.
The sweetest music to anyone’s ears is the sound of his own name.

4. Be friendly and helpful.
If you want friends, you must be one.

5. Be cordial.
Speak and act as if everything you do is a joy to you.

6. Be genuinely interested in people.
You can like almost everybody if you try.

7. Be generous with praise…
and cautious with criticisms.

8. Be considerate with the feelings of others.
There are usually three sides to a controversy: Yours, the other fellow’s and the right side.
9. Be eager to lend a helping hand.
Often it is appreciated more than you know.

10. Add to this:
a good sense of humor, a huge dose of patience and a dash of humility. This combination will open many doors and the rewards will be enormous

Empowering Women

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

We always hear the phrase “Empowering Women”. Yes indeed, women have empowered themselves considerably for the past generation. And is continuously doing so, we see women not only as the weaker sex and left at home to be just a plain homemaker. But instead women are now being empowered to be even the mother of a nation.

And so when I came across this unique leadership program for women, I was more than happy to share the good news to others. It is all about wlp – Women’s Leadership Program is an intellectual program design around 4 different areas of study: arts and culture, development (economics), politics, or science. Each area is accompanied with appropriate Humanities and writing courses. The unifying academic experience, that makes WLP much more than a set of courses, is the WLP seminar designed to provide knowledge about, and experience in, leadership as relates to women. The WLP faculty meet regularly to insure that there is a connection among all aspects of the program. The faculty is supported by a graduate student in each cohort.

The program explores issues relative to women’s leadership, its nature, its expressions, and its exercise in various intellectual, artistic, social, political, and technological contexts while meeting some of GW’s general curriculum requirements, school requirements and prerequisite courses for many majors. Students selected to participate in each program take two courses and a symposium together each term, and live together in a residence hall community on the Mount Vernon campus. Students experience the political, economic, and cultural resources of Washington as an integral part of their courses and program activities. And can eventually enroll in George Washington University and other major universities, more than ready to face a more challenging world but definitely has the confidence of an empowered woman.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar De La Hoya | And the Pinays

Expectedly, many Filipinas will be seen tomorrow on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar De La Hoya fight. All will be watching and cheering for the Pambansang Kamao, actually our hearts are torn between Manny and the Golden Boy, but of course… blood is always thicker than water! :-)

For many years, boxing is generally just for the boys here in the Philippines. But ever since Manny Pacquiao claimed international fame in the boxing world, many were even surprised to see Pinays all hooked up in boxing.

Perhaps, it is not just all about the fight, but the nature of Pinays to be supportive of their men, that is why we came to know and love boxing even more.

And tomorrow, the Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar De La Hoya is our next fight! We may not cheer as loud as the boys nor bet as high as the men, but definitely, we are all out in our support for Manny! Good Luck! :-)

Dingdong Dantes | One of E! Entertainment 25 Sexiest Men of the World 2008

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Dingdong Dantes ranked number 6 on E! Entertainment (USA)’s 25 Sexiest Men of the World 2008. Whoah! That was indeed very flattering to see a Filipino name on the list.

Photobucket

Definitely, Dingdong is one of the finest actor of his generation, no doubt about that. But as for me, I am really quite surprised to see his name on the list, honestly, I am really not a fan of him (ooopss, no offense meant to his fans ) , I just think that there are still more Pinoy actors who are also qualified to be on that list, aside from him. I am just not sure why it is only him they have picked out.

But anyway, since I am proud to be Pinay… it is still an honor for us to have a “kababayan” among the list.

Just for some thought… may I ask the Pinays out there, if you were given a chance to choose two more names, who would they be? <Derek Ramsey and Richard Gutierrez>
