House sales plummet to lowest level since records began

Monday, June 16th, 2008

According to a recent report house sales in the UK have plummeted to their lowest level since records began in 1978, with a number of factors contributing to the worse house sale figures on record. The estate agency industry is suffering hugely as a result of these falling house sales, and many have predicted that a number of estate agencies will end up going bust due to the extremely poor level of sales.

One estate agent summed up the situation by stating that he had ‘no credit, no confidence, no customers’. The recent report, which was released by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, showed that the picture looked gloomier than ever, and could get worse. RICS started monitoring house prices three decades ago, and officials state that house prices are experiencing the most widespread falls since they started keeping these records.

Officials have also said that this picture is even worse than the dark days of the 1990s house price crash. Around 82% of estate agents that were polled in April said that house prices had fallen. Estate agents sold an average of 18.3 properties each between February and April, with one agent stating that sales figures were down 60% compared to last year. The average sales figure is the lowest on record.

The number of people registering an interest in purchasing property has been falling for the last two year, but one of the major factors that has been attributed to falling sales is the tighter mortgage lending conditions that have stemmed from the global credit crunch. Another factor is that predicted house price falls over the next two year are putting would be buyers off from making a commitment until they see what happens with house prices.

Repay Evil with Good

sunday mass

Today is Sunday, and I haven’t been to church yet… and sorry if I can’t explain to you why and I am feeling guilty to state my reason (actually I have no sufficient grounds not to attend mass). As a Christian I strongly believe, it is very important for us to attend mass and most importantly the Sunday mass

Well, it is a personal struggle of mine to do just that… and I am praying for that. And hopefully someday… sooner I will be able to overcome my struggle. I just don’t want to repay every good things that our Creator have been giving me with wrong deeds.

And it is more shameful for me to take comfort in the thought that it is not only me who is experiencing this kind of struggle in life. Forgive me, but sometimes things are much easier to accept knowing that your not the only one … :-)

Anyway… the reflection question that I am pondering today is in connection with what I’ve read a while ago, it says that:

It is easy to reciprocate good for a good deed. And yet it is a far different reality to repay evil with good. Yet, this is what we are called to do as Christians.

But if indeed it is in our nature to reciprocate good things done to us by our fellow human…

then why are we always falling into the pithole of paying God’s kindness with wrong doings?

Credit Card Security

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Merchants who would want to install the system of accepting credit cards should take note of their big responsibility in the credit card security before applying for one.

Although it is the responsibility of the card holder to protect their plastic card as well as the privacy of their credit card numbers. In the same manner, it is also the responsibility of merchants to apply full security procedures in dealing with credit cards. Not just to protect their merchant accounts but their consumers as well.

Credit cards can benefit merchant accounts in a way that credit card are even more secure than cash or checks, because they discourage theft and the issuing bank commits to pay the merchant the moment the transaction is authorized, regardless of whether the consumer defaults on his credit card payment.

With these benefits, it is just an obligation for both parties to protect credit card frauds.

The Commandments | St. Barnabas

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

In as much as I would want to blog more about Pinay in this blogsite as well as things that highlights Pinay’s uniqueness and strength…

Let me start this portion where I could share with you things and thoughts where I as a Pinay drew strength from…
(di lang me I know many were also inspired by the works of Bo Sanchez and his friends..:-))

The Commandments and St. Barnabas

st.-barnabas

Today I’ve learned that it is the memorial of St. Barnabas and that he is also called Son of Encouragement because it is the meaning of his name. What struck me most about his character is that I’ve read that he is considered to be styled as an apostle in the Holy Scripture, and, like St. Paul, ranked by the Church with the Twelve, though not one of them. How did this happen? Because during the first account of his work with Paul his name always precedes that of Paul but later on Paul quickly established himself as the leader of their mission.

But St. Barnabas never worried for his own position and yet he still continued to support Paul and helped lay the foundation for arguably the most influential of evangelizing ministries in the history of the Church. It is in their mission in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.

St. Barnabas is a good example of what a good leader should be, I believe it is in him to recognize what would be good for other and not only for himself.

There are still many accounts about the life of St. Banabas. Hope you could also read them.

….and also here’s an excerpt on the reflection I’ve read from Arun Gogna that I think is worth reflecting on…

Let’s take some of the commandments we memorized when we were growing up: Thou shall not commit adultery; Thou shall not steal; Thou shall not kill. Jesus came not only to fulfill these, but perfect them as well. He challenges us: ‘Yes, you do not commit adultery, but do you take care of your family? Yes, you do not steal, but are you generous? Indeed, you do not kill, but do you give life to those around you?’”
Do you want to be complete? Then follow what Jesus did.
Jesus makes you complete

Good Day Folks! :-)

Free Debt Help from Kung Fu Panda

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Of course, I do not literally mean that we could actually help you in paying you debts as in we would personally shell out real cold cash for your debts. :-) If only we were superman, we would gladly fly your Free credit card companies to Kryptonite. Or Po the bungling panda from Kung Fu Panda and we would gladly learn martial art and become the legendary warrior of credit card debt. Hmmm- why not?

Well, just to make things clear, Po and I are not declaring a war against our friends from the credit card companies. We would just like to think of ourselves as the – new hero of these helpless (errr immature) credit card debtors. Who were wickedly dragged by the flying and flipping credit cards into the dark side of credit world.

Enough of that daydreaming, seriously maybe PayPaul is the new hero you are looking for dear credit card debtors. Check out their articles regarding debt and surely they could find help for you. Free credit card

What’s your forecast for 2010 Election?

Friday, June 6th, 2008

2010 Election is still too far away to think of, it’s about two years or 24 months to go. But the excitement and speculation is already brewing in the air. Actually the unofficial campaign period would surely start next year.

Come to think of it, it would just be my 2nd time to vote for the presidential election and I think 3rd for the senatorial.

If Erap would run (if it is still legal) I think he nevertheless has a big chances of winning (hmmm, I wonder who among those people in Edsa 2 would vote for him now.)

But if Erap won’t run, how about Mr. Palengke, Sen. Villar and Sen. Legarda? Or Vice-President Noli De Castro. Take your pick…

For the Vice-President position I am thinking of Sen. Chiz Escudero or Sen. Kiko. But they are also saying that Sen. Jinggoy would run. As a responsible citizen of our beloved Philippines, who would you choose?

If ever the Noli-Vilma or Noli-Gordon tandem would push thru, I think Vilma is still sensible not to run for higher position yet because she is still to enjoy serving Cavite as Governor. “Marami pa siya pwede gawin sa Cavite before being Vice President”. Gordon? I know Gordon did a lot of things to improve Tourism in the Philippines and he can be a good VP but I am not confident he has enough supporters for that.

And lastly for senators, how about Mr. Singing Bee, Mr. Amazing Kap, Dawn Zulueta (huh!?), Margie Moran, Cong. De Venecia, Mr. Papaya? Uh-uh next page please…. Actually these people are already doing very good in their own respective fields. Ok… why not for senators…(am I serious? :-) )

Anyway, I believe Filipinos are already super uber hungry and clamoring for change in the politics. Let’s just pray hard for us to achieve that goal.
